Congratulations to Con Moran (5th year) who was awarded Highly Commended in the Peterhouse Cambridge Kelvin Science Essay Prize 2017.  This is a remarkable achievement by Con who was placed in the top seven of two hundred and fifty entries from all over the world. Con hopes to study science.

This is the second year in a row that a Coláiste Choilm student has been a winner in the Kelvin Science Essay Prize. Last year David McMahon (6th year) was also awarded Highly Commended. Congratulation s to the Science Department for nurturing such tremendous interest in the sciences and particular thanks to Ms. Padraigín O’Donoghue for supporting Con and David in their application. Prof. Adrian Dixon, former mastder of Cambridge University’s oldest college, Peterhouse, has visited Coláiste Choilm and spoken to students about studying medicine, radiology and science in Cambridge.
