Transition Year is optional and is availed of by upwards of 90% of pupils.
It offers a broad educational experience with a view to the attainment of increased maturity before proceeding to further study. Work experience is a central part of the programme as are the many extra-curricular activities and outings in which the students participate. This year provides a bridge to help students make the transition from a highly structured environment to one where they take greater responsibility for their own learning and decision making. The Transition Year programme within Coláiste Choilm has been an outstanding success from the outset.
